People’s History Museum

We went to the People’s History Museum in Manchester this morning. It’s a great place, so interesting. We will probably go back again on Friday as we didn’t get to see it all. This banner was made in 1992 to highlight the position of 14 staff who were dismissed from GHCQ in 1988 for refusing to give up their union membership after Thatcher’s Government made it illegal for staff at GCHQ to be unionised. The law wasn’t changed until 1997.
