Swings and roundabouts at the Plough
This pub is only a couple of streets away from our house.
Before and after we moved in we would visit on a regular basis. The beer was good, the food great and very reasonably priced.
A couple of years ago it changed hands and rapidly went down hill, eventually the kitchen closed and it became a bit of a dive.
A few months ago it was bought out by new owners, it closed for refurbishment and this week it re-opened its doors. It is having a soft opening with a limited menu but we were keen to check it out.
It's been done up nicely inside and out so it's definitely more appealing to visitors. Today we decided to give it a go with great anticipation.
The new couple running it and staff were very friendly and even though three of the six meals were not great we want to support our local in the future.
They addressed the problems by knocking the three meals off the bill, so we hope this is just first week "teathing" issues and we can return for a better evening.
Personally my meal was fantastic so I had nothing to worry about.
