Wound up in Wexford

Wexford

Up and out early this morning - though I didn't need to leave quite as early as W.  The heating on the little Zoë has never functioned properly so we asked them to look when it was serviced in Waterford a couple of weeks ago.  They told us it wasn't obvious why, but there wasn't adequate pressure in the system, and wanted it back for a full day to try to sort it.  We hadn't been very impressed with their service, so decided to try the Wexford Renault dealership.

Whilst they were diagnosing the problem I picked up W and we spent the day in Wexford.  We visited Barkers to look at their pans - we want to replace our pans.  They didn’t have quite what we wanted, but we sat in their coffee shop and Googled the make that we had liked - found a bargain in a shop in Loughrea that does online orders, and ordered them!

Then we popped into Trespass - having a closing down sale - bought a lightweight waterproof jacket.  And walked down for a mooch in TKMaxx.

And a wander along the river front.  I introduced W to one of my favourite lunch spots - Westgate Design.

Supermarket shopping at SupaValu and Aldi.  And finally it was time to drop him back at the garage.

He was much happier with the service there, but the news is bad - if we want functioning heating it'll cost us the best part of €3000 for a new compressor!

We will probably live without it.  Do we think our vendors knew about this when we bought the car - we suspect they did?  Hey ho!

We spent the evening doing more planning for our next trip to Sweden.  All ferries and hotels booked now.
