Hibiscus

Tuesday
This morning we managed a call with Roger’s Dad, Bernard, who is currently in a care home in England on respite care, while Janet and John are having a vacation in Canada before coming on to Laura’s wedding on the 13th. When we call him we use FaceTime and he answers on his iPad. , however when he is at home if he doesn’t answer the iPad, we can call the home phone which has a loud ring which he can hear, then he can go to the iPad. When he’s in the home we’re relying on him hearing the iPad which I don’t think he hears, especially if he’s asleep - and at 97,:he spends quite a bit of time sleeping! Fortunately he has several people from church visiting him from time to time, and one of them, Richard we had contact numbers for and he us. So, knowing we were having problems getting through to Bernard, he texted R to say he would be there from 1.30 pm UK time today and would be there for about an hour, so if we called toward the end of that time, he would be there to answer it. So that worked, and we got to have a good chat with him. He’s doing fine, and the staff seem to be wonderful -:one of them came in to bring him a cup of coffee while we were talking, and you could tell from the way she spoke how cheerful and caring she is.
We went cycling again today, this time from South Lebanon and heading north for 10 miles return. The Rowe Mallow hibiscus, with its huge bloom was at the end of the car park. The rest of the afternoon I was doing laundry and ironing, and got some knitting done too.
