Lochranza

A lovely sunny and warm day, but rather windy.  We were all slow to get going, and TT got distracted by the jigsaw. BB slept late, as he claims to have not slept well. We are all sharing a room and I can sympathise as TT was snoring!!

We eventually headed out and our first stop was Machrie Standing Stones, a favourite and easy walk. A really lovely walk on such a lovely day.

We continued our drive up the west coast of Arran, stopping in Lochranza. We went to the wonderful Sandwich Station for lunch. Their sandwiches are huge. I managed half of mine, saving the rest for later. We enjoyed a wander in the sunshine. It was very sheltered in Lochranza, and was a really lovely walk sun trap.

BB is struggling with a sore back (a rugby injury), so we cut our wander short, and headed back to the cottage. Later we all headed back over to Brodick for a very lovely dinner. Once back home I decided to go for a quick beach walk. Just as I turned round to head home, the rain came on and I was soaked by the time I got back. Not what I had expected, given the beautiful day.

This is a view across the bay at Lochranza.
