Figs

Halved, pressed into a spicy mixture of sugar, cinnamon and ground cloves and roasted for 14 mins. Served with dollops of Cornish vanilla icecream. Very delicious and which followed a very tasty chicken casserole which I prepared early this morning and shoved into the slow cooker to simmer away til dinner time.

Busy day. Did ALL the ironing. Prepped dinner then off to the Trentham Retail Village near Newcastle under Lyme to return an item to Seasalt, a whizz round H&B to stock up on nuts, seeds, gluten free bits and now that Autumn appears to be creeping up on us, a supply of VitD.

On the way home I dropped into friend B to give her the rest of the Sloes I picked in Essex. B's also going to make some Sloe gin. We drank tea and had a very good catchup.  

No rain today but windy again and mostly overcast.
