Zedwell

Today I walked Django since A had a medical appointment, after which I continued to work on my slides for Monday. As a distraction, I tried to reproduce a HiGHS issue about which someone had emailed me overnight. However, I ran out of time and, after lunch with A, I left for Edinburgh. I had plenty of time before my train, so I'm called in on daughter K to get her signature on the document finalising Mum's estate.

From K's flat I crossed over to Waverley, where I caught a train to London. On the way I finally skimmed through a book I'd agreed to review 9 months ago. It wasn't great, as it doesn't say much more than the second edition of a book that I devoured as a PhD student back in 1989. Unfortunately, one of the authors is well known to me, so I had a dilemma. In the end I was as positive as I could, but probably damned it with faint praise. Afterwards, I continued to work on my slides.

In London I was soon on the Thameslink platform, but just missed the first train to Deptford. Rather than wait 30 minutes for the next, and went via London Bridge Station, allowing me to take its Turf zone.

I'm now in a minimalist, windowless modern "Zedwell" hotel room near Greenwich. Hopefully I'll "zed well" tonight!
