Tale of Greyhound "Wallace"
I was just going to collect a prescription when I was confronted by a large black nose poking through the wrought iron gate, and behind the nose was an even larger greyhound. It was very gentle, but there was no sign of the owner who I guessed (wrongly) might be visiting a neighbour as there were no shouts or calls of the dog's name from the nearby woodland or further along the Close. Fortunately Wallace was wearing a tag, but the phone number had degraded; however the address was just visible.Leaving the dog in my garden I drove the odd mile to the address ( I had no means of securing it in the car) just as the young Mum plus pushchair had arrived home. She claimed the dog had just disappeared on a normal walk and her calls to it went unheeded. She later returned to collect it.
Not that I minded today but hope this does't become a regular occurrence.
