RAF
A gentle day after yesterday's exertions. We went to the Cornwall at War Museum, it is wonderful. A series of buildings on part of an old airfield, crammed full of military memorabilia and tableaux, supported by videos explaining that particular display. Most of the videos feature the museum owner, and he welcomed us to the museum - he was on the gate greeting each arrival. The site is clearly a labour of love and it is staffed entirely by volunteers.
Next to it is a much smaller museum dedicated to RAF Davidstow Moor. Again it is staffed by enthusiastic volunteers, we had a personal guide.
We've just scrubbed tomorrow's plan - we were going to celebrate Cal's birthday with a visit to Tintagel castle, but there is a weather warning for rain & strong winds, not the stuff to mix with wandering along clifftops with steep slopes and sheer drops; the castle was shut on Monday because of the weather.
The image is of an RAF Police armband, my brother was a snowdrop for thirty-two years.
