A day at the park
Today was the first day of my 5 days off and what better way to start it off with a trip to our local country park.
We parked up and walked to the swing park part but it was VERY busy which I knew it would be but the only problem I now have is Erin thinks she's too big for the smaller part but can't actually do the big part on her own. Caleb just wants to walk around and climb on anything he shouldn't so I was pretty torn and didn't have enough hands or eyes. So after 10 minutes we went for a walk.
We sat and ate lunch on a bench in front of the duck pond and Erin was saving small pieces from her cons so she could feed the ducks. A few weeks ago there would if been more for the ducks than she ate but not now :) I love this new eating malarkey. After lunch we took out left over bread to the pond and Erin tried her best at throwing it to the ducks but it kept hitting the banks so mummy helped out. Caleb just ate everything we gave him :)
I took the babies to the sensory garden which not only is it fab but it was also all in the shade as it was getting hot. The garden is set in the woods and has all been made out if recycled objects. There's so much for the babies to do. Lots of banging, making music, using objects to make sounds on other objects. Calebs favourite was the coconuts hangingon string. Erin loved the plastic tubes with the metal stick. It's all very well made and there is about 20 different things to play on.
A quick toilet break for madam and off to our next adventure, the woodland walk. Caleb fell asleep by time we for there so me and Erin got to have some one on one time. There was again lots to see. Lots of animals carved from wood to spot, Erin's favourite a giant dragonfly that she could sit on, the snake was good to walk on until she came to its face and then she wasn't too keen (think the fangs were a bit much) there were some huts made from woven branches with tree stumps inside like a den. She loved those so we had a pretend tea party.
A lovely day to say it was meant to be spent at the swing park.
