Time...

... for a new boiler?

On Saturday we noticed we had no hot water and found the oil boiler was not igniting. I have a limited number of "fixes" I can try but none worked, so I tried the electric immersion heater (the backup option), nopes. So 3 days of boiling water on the hob and having mini-baths until Mr Fixit could come, and fixit he did. He also checked the immersion and a wee reset button had popped, so it too began working. Our boiler must be about 29 years old, it's had a tough life stuck in the garage, low enough power usage to allow the generator to keep it going during many powercuts, but I think it's time!
