Casting for salmon

Mark had lost a couple of fish first thing. Here he's fishing Middle Gannets, one of the best pools on the best beat on the River Dee. He ended with two salmon and two sea trout for the week, not a remarkable return but every beat struggled this week.

It's not easy to put out this length of line. The rod works like a spring and the line is the weight. Once you understand this principle it's just a matter of perfecting your technique.
