Blue Tit ( Cyanistes caeruleus )

This one seems to be thinking "I've had enough of these seeds I could do with a nice juicy spider"  followed by "I wonder if there are any under here".  I am always amazed by the agility of members of the tit family.  Currently we have them going round all the underside of the window ledges and anywhere else they think they will find hiding insects.

Social club this afternoon and a fascinating talk by the leader of the Cumbria Police Fingerprint bureau.  Not only did he give good detail of the organisation and how it worked, we learned about the finger prints themselves and a famous case was used as an example of the difficulties.  It was interesting to learn that fingerprints, unlike DNA are accepted without corroborating evidence, where as DNA on its own isn't.
