Wells Cathedral and Palace Moat

Today was a day of rain and the two Es and I drove over to Wells as the daughter of great friends of ours was getting married.  Wells can be quite tricky for parking so we parked in a field (the Palace Fields) near the Bishop's Barn, an ancient tithe barn, where the reception was going to be held (see extra).  We then had to walk up the hill through narrow roads to the church.  A lovely day although we all got soaked walking across the town and not many photographs were taken outside!  So glad I wore my trainers!!

Photograph shows the moat with the cathedral in the background.  Another extra shows swans waddling down the path having landed on dry ground from the moat.
