What a difference a day makes

This is one of my favourite roses … and the extra is what it looked like yesterday.  
The weather hasn’t been kind to the garden this year (too hot and too dry).  But the roses are surprisingly good. 
I don’t water the flower beds - just the pots.  I suppose I ought to change to add more drought resistant plants - but that feels like giving up.  
We can still do something about climate change but it will take serious government intervention worldwide - and that seems like a distant hope at the moment.
