Why?

The battery has expired on my fancy, heavyweight, stainless steel Casio Edifice chronograph watch. I looked in my watch drawer and retrieved this Accurist watch that my parents bought for me for my 21st Birthday - now that was a long time ago. It's been in the drawer for years and years, however I wound it up and - it worked immediately.
It made me think.  What more do I need from a watch - all the buttons on the Casio are a mystery to me, so I never use them. Because of its age and lack of use it could probably benefit from some kind of a service .... I'll see how its timekeeping performs.
