Meadow Brown

Still chasing butterflies, as I feel so cheated by the few species I've seen this year.  Today I went to Barton Meadows, wondering if I might just get lucky.  This was the nearest I came to it, so it's another meadow brown from me I'm afraid.  The flower it's feeding from is Field Scabious.  Perhaps tomorrow I'll risk the showers and go up to the reserve on Magdalen Hill (mould in the camera, anyone?)

The rest of the day's been quiet and ordinary, which seemed fine to me.  And we have had a fair amount of sun, which is always lovely.
