Canal Basin
As I headed for a swim today I stopped by the Forth and Clyde Canal near Temple, Anniesland. There was a lad fishing, a swan swimming and the usual customers of the Lock 27 restaurant enjoying lunch outdoors. I also saw a yacht moored close by. This is the first vessel I have seen on the canal at this location.
However I thought the most attractive scene was the basin framed by the waterside vegetation. The rosebay willow herb has almost all been transformed into fluffy seedheads. The average number of seeds per capsule is 300-500 and the number per plant is 80,000. No wonder it colonises every nook and cranny!
