Walked along the path out of the campsite and along the coast then up through Ravenglass village this morning, stopping off at the train station to buy tickets for the narrow gage railway for the afternoon.
Took it to the end of the line.
Got pub lunch. Walked (and wished we’d taken our swimming things cause the wee stream was gorgeous and pools were deep enough for a swim or at least a dip).
In the evening we went into Whitehaven in the hopes of finding some camping gas for our stove. We didn’t but we did discover that Whitehaven was more interesting than we had expected. It was obviously once a fairly wealthy place and probably about 20years ago they had tried to do it up a bit to attract more people but it hasn’t had the people or the upkeep and the nice paving has some grass growing through and the ‘cool’ seating area in the harbour is very scarily creaky and the harbour walls have beautiful flowers growing out the sides! And then again it hasn’t a huge harbour!
Seeing the sea from there was beautiful.
