Poetrystage
The poetry"gig" went very well this afternoon. After Eva and me had built the stage and plugged the sound equipment in, the event were off. We had a very mixed audience, which is a rule at these performances, all ages from 23 to 86 were present in our twenty-something audience. The surroundings are also very nice, the beautiful garden has scattered coffee guests all over the lawns, playing kids and city sounds entering. There was even a wedding going on in a corner of the garden that finished just before we began. Three acts were planned, Eva and me doing twenty minutes of reading and music, all by the poet Gustaf Fröding, a young woman was doing very good poetry slam reading of her own work (extra) and Evas partner Ann, was reading her own poetry. After that we had "Open stage" for those in the audience who wanted to read something. Seven people enlisted so all in all we had a two our poetry moment. Everyone seemed very content.
Just when we started to pack our things a torrential shower came upon us and we got thoroughly wet trying to save al the equipment and clean up after us. Half way over the bridge to my island, I was met by a completely dry road, the shower was very local over Kalmar. It also happens quite often that the rain stays over the mainland without effecting the island at all.
A good day. If anyone in the audience took pictures of Evas and my performance, I will put them in later.
