On the Move
Foggy this morning! I went out anyway, hoping to find an interesting bird or two down by the lake. No warblers hopping around in the bushes, but the swallows were swooping around in significant numbers and gathering on the utility cables in preparation for leaving us altogether. They are mainly Barn Swallows and Tree Swallows with possibly the odd Cliff Swallow mixed in. The noticeably smaller one to the right is probably a Bank Swallow/Sand Martin.
Whenever a car drove by they all took off in a great swirl before reconvening on the cable - until one last time and they were gone for good.
