Somerset House and Book Festival

We started our day at Somerset House, Strand, London where we saw the exhibition Virtual Beauty  (extra) - that was focused on how cosmetic surgery, social media, Artificial Intelligence, and technologies such as filters and 3D avatars are having an impact on beauty - particularly the facial beauty and how we project ourselves in digital spaces.

In the piazza, there was a sculpture called ‘The Dream’ by Turner Prize-winning, Somerset House Studios artist Tai Shani (extra).

The third extra is a view of River Thames from Somerset House.

From there we went to the Book Festival at Queen’s Park London. The main blip shows Lyce Ducet of the BBC being interviewed by Rebecca Jones (formerly the Arts Correspondent, BBC) about Lyce’s new book: The Finest Hotel In Kabul,

We also attended an interview related to a book on Ukraine but our highlight of the festival was Lyce Doucet.
