Back on Shed

A special passenger service was operating today at for some passengers from the cruise ship Regal Princess who visited us on an excursion from Greenock and had a couple of trips up the line, a guided tour of the site and an afternoon tea in the cafe. Feedback from our visitors and their guide were good so hopefully it may result in some opportunities for us to host again in the future.

As there were only four trips it meant an early finish today for the loco crew, but we are in early again tomorrow morning to get fired up again for the open day.

The coal briquettes worked well with no problems. The information from the manufacturers were to run with a thick fire bed, but this was preventing air getting to the bottom of the coal last week, so we are giving it a poke regularly to try to clear an air path and will see how that works out tomorrow on a full days running.
