An ordinary life....

Hebridean layers...

Woke at 8.30am and decided no rushing about today.  We both slept well, which was good for the first night in a strange bed.

D sat in the dining room (another amazing view, see 3rd extra) to eat breakfast while he answered some messages from J about the next month's rota for Alan's team.  I sat in the big chair looking at the same view as last night only in the morning light (final extra) It is mesmerising.  I could sit here for the whole week and not feel I had missed anything.

We did eventually prize ourselves away and headed back to Stornoway to collect the binoculars we ordered from Argos.  Hoping to see some sea eagles.   Stopped at Charley Barley's to buy bacon, sausages and of course their world famous Stornoway black pudding.  It is the absolute best!  From there we popped next door to the co-op to top up with provisions.

I had planned to have a wander round Stornoway and visit this lovely lady in her wee shop, but passengers from a cruise ship were in town so will leave that pleasure till next week when hopefully it's a bit quieter.

As we headed back to Crowlista and Uig Bay the weather closed in and the mist descended.  We got into the cottage just before the rain got too heavy.

The rain has gone off now and we are sitting in this beautiful wee cottage warm and cosy, G&Ts to hand, listening to the wind howling outside and watching aqua water in the bay lap against the golden sand.  The sheep are hunkering together.  I want to invite them in!  :-)

Dinner when we can drag ourselves away from this amazing scenery, followed by a film.  <sighs contentedly>
