Book deal

B here was one of my students many moons ago. He was in my form for 5 years and his card at the end thanked me for ‘keeping him in school’. He managed the first year of his A levels before leaving to go work in a hotel kitchen.
Jump forward 20 years, he has had many successful jobs as a chef, including at Harvey Nichols and a Michelin Star restaurant. He and a couple of partners opened an authentic Italian restaurant in Harrogate, with a deli for good measure and then opened a second in Leeds. Now he has just signed a book deal! So, so proud of him! Lovely lad off a tough council estate in Leeds, tough childhood and soon to be a published chef :-)
