Berberis

I have two berberis bushes in my front garden. They act as a block of colour although they do flower.

Unfortunately they are currently being attacked by the Barberry Carpet Moth caterpillar. It has happened before so I don't think the bushes are at too much risk. Maybe the birds will deal with them..?

Today I have been playing with a new toy. A petrol driven wheeled strimmer with a wire brush attached. It has made light work of all the weeds growing on my drive and footways. It did such a good job my neighbour has asked to borrow it tomorrow!
