Office
I began the morning with a productive 2-hour call with И and our Berlin-based developer, as we decided what to do next in the development of our major solver. Afterwards, I went into work, where I had lunch with PhD student Y. She was more relaxed now that she's passed her First Year review, and in the afternoon we worked intensively, discussing what I'd done to integrate her solver into HiGHS, and the deficiencies that I'd identified. Quite a bit of time was taken in setting her up to work within the more professional setup of HiGHS. However, it's good training. When I asked our head of administration about having a bigger office for the HiGHS team, I learned that it's now well on track, and we may have an office next to the common room, with this northern view.
I was late back after spending time chatting with my oldest colleague, but A had made a start on cooking, and we enjoyed a meal together.
