Double Trouble
Two female kestrels having a territorial dispute.
Having got the heads up that there were hobbies around I shot off to the farm where our farmer friend had seen them yesterday afternoon following in the wake his tractor.
No such luck today for me though but I did see a good deal of fighting between firstly two very distant kestrels as seen in my blip and the dominant kestrel here being totally terrorised by a crow in a long hard battle. From where I was hiding in my car they were never going to be great shots but you get the jist.
The underdog in the kestrel fracas when I got them up on the computer has a ring on its right leg. Either this is my kestrel which hunts in our garden, see Extra, or it comes from the same nest as mine. Interesting. I wish I knew who had ringed them.
