Chopper and chopping

As planned, my Keep Oban Beautiful colleague Sue and I met up at 10am and drove along to the hospital to make plans for our offer to sort out the two internal gardens there. As we got out of the car the Air Ambulance chopper was up on the grass getting ready to take off, or so it seemed! I had to wait a while but it did eventually rise into the sky, my Blip today.

Having announced ourselves at reception we went down the corridor and let ourselves in to the larger of the two gardens. Completely surrounded by the hospital buildings this garden had a number of interesting shrubs and three lovely mature birches - my extra today.  It hasn't been properly maintained for a long time, but we made a list of what we felt should and could be done and moved on to the second, smaller garden, which appeared to be closed to patients and could be viewed only from the corridor windows. There's a lot of scope here and being pretty sheltered we could add quite a few interesting plants, including, I hope, a tree fern! Once our ideas have been accepted we'll ask for some more KOB volunteers.

Back home we chopped up another car boot full of prunings took it down to the dump - Sue wanted to visit the shop there. Only another one or two loads to go! As we left it began to rain, as per forecast, so I'm glad we got our garden job done this morning!
