Showcase Cinema, Nantgarw
“Stories have no beginning and no end, only doors through which one may enter them.”
Carlos Ruiz Zafón
We’re into K1’s birthday ‘week’ (whoever thought one day for birthday celebration was enough?) and as the weather forecast wasn’t encouraging we headed off to Nantgarw to see ‘The Life of Chuck’, which she’d heard recommended by a friend. I was surprised that it wasn’t a horror movie (which K1 would definitely not have been interested in) and was immediately drawn into its’ exploration of life, death, and purpose – similar to The Green Mile, another of Stephen King’s ‘surprise’ books for me. Over to Frankie and Benny’s afterwards for K1 to top up her Spag. Bol. levels for the month; the best way to round off an afternoon at the cinema (as well as the discount with cinema ticket) and saves on the washing up later. Welcomed back home by a Red Kite prospecting nearby, always an exciting sight.
