Glenfinnan

Back blip - I also blipped 20th August

Claudia was keen to visit Glenfinnan and see the famous viaduct made famous by the Harry Potter film. There is a short walk that includes several viewpoints so decided to do that. It is not too far but there was so much traffic that it took over two hours to get from Oban to Glenfinnan. Once there we found that the place was absolutely mobbed! I had been there before with my sisters but it was in 2013, post Harry Potter but Instagram was not as big then, and there were no such crowds. Still we did the walk which was fairly pleasant , we stopped at the viaduct viewpoint and ate our lunch there, then a lot of people arrived and sat there too and we realised that a train was coming... We finished our walk slowly, enjoying the views and the area away from the viaduct. We drove back via Glencoe and  stopped at the Clachaig Inn for a tea/coffee.  We arrived too late in Oban for the seafood dinner we had planned - the seafood hut was closed, so we went for a pub meal and were entertained by an accordion player who managed to create a great atmosphere in the pub.
