Steam train
Captured on the Ribble Valley Viaduct
Another really busy day. We started off by driving through some of the lovely little villages and hamlets in the Lonsdale area of Lancashire. A couple of beautiful old houses where ancestors lived. In the first house there were definitely ancestors during the seventeenth century, and in the second house, they were there from the fourteenth century to the seventeenth century. We managed to squeeze a quick visit to the beautiful Tatham Church before the service began - the church is set in a truly delightful setting.
From there we had a little nose in Ingleton, Clapham and Austwick before heading North up the Ribble Valley. The Viaduct is a truly wonderful site, and we were very lucky to see a steam train head over it just after we arrived.
Thence up to Hawes where we took some photos of Hardraw Force (Son Number One is going to blip it!), and then back into another pub for refreshments.
Busy busy busy!!
