Preying Mantis

Yesterday, as I approached my car in the driveway, I noticed a preying mantis resting on the pavement in the shade provided by the car over him. (see extra photo)
As I captured his photo I mentioned it was quite a dangerous place to be.
This morning, as I opened my garage door, I saw the same preying mantis overhead on the soffit above the door.
It seems to have heeded my warning... this preying mantis is a smart one.
