Herb Robert ( Geranium robertianum )
Another wet day! I might get used to this, but I doubt it. So it was late afternoon when I wandered into the, by then dry (ish) garden looking for a blip. Among the things I shot was this little Herb Robert, they have always been rather a favourite of mine.
As the scientific name suggests it is a member of the geranium (cranesbill) group. Having had a read up about it it seems its scientific name hasn't changed in about 500 years. That must be a record because currently everything plant or animal seems to be having its scientific name changed with monotonous regularity. White varieties have been used in gardens for centuries.
