Sandside

I took this photo as we were driving to the Kendal office, this morning. looking out over the estuary of the River Kent. 

The road follows its southern side and then the River Bela, which branches off the estuary and leads all the way to Milnthorpe.

It's not a wide river by any means, yet it was evidently large enough for Milnthorpe to be a working port.
