Life in Sunny Dubai

Coming in to land

And we are HOME! :)))

We had a good flight (once we changed our seats) and both of us got a few hours of sleep. G had the window seat to get some shots as we came in to land. It was hard to choose one. I went for this as it shows built-up areas surrounded by desert/shrubs.

Dubai Airport is fantastic in the mornings, so we sailed through immigration, baggage and were soon in a taxi on our way home. We managed the bags to the flat and, ta da - all is well in here! No leaks, no mishaps in 51 days. It is hot, but that is to be expected. It is made worse by the fact that the bedroom a/c's, which didn't get switched on at all while we were away, are not cooling.

Anyway, as the summer didn't go to plan - we had expected our cleaner, Nara, to have returned from his extended trip to look after the place - it quickly became apparent that the place needed a clean. Thankfully, Mahendra was available. Within an hour, the place was sparkling. :))

I set up my desk, ready to work, then stopped for a snack and succumbed to a (much-needed) nap. It was great to have a spicy meal again, and then to catch some international news, which I have really missed. It's the weekend tomorrow, so I'm looking forward to getting ready for a full week at work from Monday. Whilst going through my emails, I noted one informing us that next Friday is a public holiday on account of the Prophet's birthday. Nice.
