Birthday girl

It was a beautiful day for a birthday, meaning that we could have a barbecue lunch out on the decking. 

It must be very difficult doing so many things, like having a birthday, without Dad, but Mum's managing really well, I think. 

I'd also like to think it helped that the girls clearly loved having her here. 

After Charlie and Hannah had gone, we finished the day with a drive out to Arnside for a walk up and down the prom (see Extra).
