A Photographic Memory

Moonlight in the Sunlight

One of my favourite albums has been re-issued for its 45th anniversary!  This is Underwater Moonlight by The Soft Boys, glimmering in the warm afternoon sunlight.

The Soft Boys were a neo-psychedelia band, made up of Robyn Hitchcock, Kimberley Rew, Morris Windsor and Matthew Seligman. The harmonies and oddities on this record are wonderful, the guitars shimmer in and out, and the stories are weirdly buried in the deep sea, as only statues are.

The record has been re-released by Robyn and his wife Emma Swift's label Tiny Ghost Records, re-engineered in Nashville, and arrived with me this afternoon!

I would very heartily recommend a listen if you haven't heard of them before. Here's the album title track - although all of the songs on the entire album are wonderful!
