Gently down the stream

Sowbread

Cyclamen hederifolium

Every year I have more and more of these growing in odd corners of my garden.  A cousin of Cyclamen purpurescens (ie 'ordinary' cyclamen) they have very distinct spikey-shaped leaves and the tell-tale is that unlike their cousins they flower before the leaves appear.

I had planned a longer trip out - to the butterfly reserve in fact - and got as far as the switch of buses in the Broadway, but the weather, amongst other things, has been against blipping - lovely sunshine interspersed with extremely heavy showers.  And really no-one can complain about the rain, we need a good deal more of it.

Hope your day's gone well.  Have a great weekend  xx
