Sunflower past

As I said most of the sunflowers are now spent due to the dry conditions whilst we were away through we do have two new flowers opening.  We’ve kept some of the dead flower heads on for seeds which we will collect for next year. I was surprised to spot this lady bird on one of them. It didn’t seem to be going any where  so I went in for my macro lens camera (the phone shots were rubbish).

Not so the Robin I tried to capture on the bird bath earlier through the kitchen window. He wasn’t hanging around and I think he was disgusted with the state of the Cosmos and Sunflower plants, you can see him with his back to them in the extra.

I did go back and check later and although still there it had moved a little so I think it’s ok.

It was dull and damp first thing when we went out shopping but by the time we got back the sun was out and I got another wash out to dry.

We’re now awaiting the family arriving en route from their Scottish holiday. They are just overnighting with us as it’s a big week for them next week as Grace starts her new job on Monday - there may be developments on this which I’ll let you know later - so looking forward to catching up with them.

Happy Friday everyone.
