FOUR PINK BEAUTIES AND A. BRUISED HAND
I decided to go out into the garden this morning to take some photographs of the flowers that were still blooming especially as we had had quite a lot of rain overnight. These are the ones I chose - a Begonia, Compassion Rose, Chrysanthemum and a Dahlia - all of which I am sure are very grateful for the rain!
Unfortunately, as I was walking back to the conservatory, I tripped on one of the slabs and fell quite heavily. However, it was near the door, so I shouted Mr. HCB and he came out quickly, as did our lovely neighbour, Mike, who said he had heard the “bump” and wanted to make sure everything was all right. I managed to turn myself round and between them, with Mr. HCB pulling and Mike lifting me under my arms, they got me up.
I don’t think there is any lasting damage - I can move my fingers well and in fact, am typing this on my “proper” keyboard on my computer, after having “rested, iced and elevated” the hand. In fact, the part that is the most sore is where my hand and elbow is actually grazed. I will ice it again a bit later, and may even have a nap. I’m pleased too, that both my knees are OK - my right knee feels a little bruised on the bone, but I can still walk and I'm "a tough old bird". We were going out food shopping this morning but we have enough to keep us going, so I don't think that will be done today.
The phone worked well and the message came up about a heavy fall, but I didn’t need the emergency services, thankfully. The only damage to the phone is a tiny crack on the screen, so all I need to get is a new screen cover.
Hope you all have a good weekend - not sure what weather is in store for us, but it is definitely much cooler and damper now, which is no bad thing. M xx
