Little Mell Fell
We drove up to the Lake District on Thursday to meet a very good friend of ours. It was really nice to get together and have lunch and a good natter.
As usual the rain arrived just as we did, but we spent some time talking about old times.
By a happy coincidence, on the next table to us was Geoff Summers with whom I spent a couple of days driving back from France, after a very wet climbing trip. Geoff was a member of the six man international team who traversed Antarctica via the South Pole, using skis and 3 dog teams; a journey of 3760 miles in 220 days.
It was good to catch up, even though I hadn't made the same impression on Geoff as he had on me!
On our way back we visited the Bud in Bloom Art exhibition at the Rheged Gallery, which rounded off the day nicely.
