A mosaic workshop at Hyde Hall today and a day off work. Sally was driving, she said, as it was daylight and not in Southend. Arriving in a new car and a lovely shade of green we sat outside the garden entrance in the sun enjoying the peace and quiet until a group arrived with some children who shattered it completely. One of the girls was excited and screeching. It was horrid and when it followed us into the toilet we couldn't wait for the venue to open and an escape route.
The tutor was very organised and the classroom space great. We had a cardboard box each with almost everything we needed inside. There were big bowls of tiles to select from and the time flew by. Sally was disappointed that we were given grouting instructions for finishing our pieces at home, but in a way, it made sense to not be sitting around waiting for it to dry or to be carrying wet stuff about.
We visited Perrywoods at Buckhatch, a multisite garden centre for lunch. Splendid.
