Big School*
A few of us met up again in Stratford today for another little blipmeet with coffee and breakfast and then on to a display by the Stratford guild of weavers spinners and dyers.
This was held in a part of King Edward the VIth Grammar School in the town , where William Shakespeare attended school.
The display was held in the old original part of the school which is now a tourist attraction for which you have to pay £12 to get in and a bit more if you’re not an old codger! The current school is now housed in much more modern buildings .
There were some lovely fabrics yarn and fibres on display there.
Our son attended this school in the ‘90s and this room was used as an exam room, possibly with more modern desks!
They now have guided tours , but we didn’t really have time to do that, but with our ticket we can go back again during the next year , so I’ll probably do that.
Not sure our son would pay to go back to school!
*Big school was the name used for this room when it was still in use as a schoolroom.
