St Michael
Mrs L had a hospital appointment in Shrewsbury so we went the long way round and I was able to visit the church of St Michael and All Angels in the village of Chirbury. The church used to be an Augustinian priory and is vast compared to the tiny village around it. It has a rather fine set of Victorian stained glass windows, some by Charles Kempe and others by James Powell & Sons. My blip today is a detail from one of the Kempe windows showing St Michael spearing a rather magnificent blue-green dragon.
