Is it art?
After a morning and a lunchtime at the RSE, Mr A and I went to see the Andy Goldsworthy retrospective at the National Galleries, as visited by a number of other blippers. I found it interesting and engaging, for the most part. Mr A less so. It didn't much test his new found sense of colour. We'd have needed to choose something else for that. I overheard someone in the shop, on the way out, saying that they found it funky but "is it art?". I guess it is, but mostly of the conceptual type. And I suspect that Goldsworthy works *much better* outside.
I was ridiculously tired by the time we got home. Edinburgh is pretty busy, still, so dodging around people on Princes Street is wearying. Plus, I didn't sleep terribly well last night so I'm suffering a bit today. I woke up thinking about work. I also heard someone on the landing outside our door, during the night, which didn't help. It was probably the waking watch, but I didn't bother to go and look out through the peephole. I also recalled in the night, and ended up feeling distracted by this, that we haven't seen the very barky "not dog" that the people across the landing have had for years. It seems to have disappeared. Mind you, I haven't actual seen any of them in person, although I've heard the little girl quite regularly as they go in and out. She keeps up a continuous stream of conversation with her parents. Anyway, after waking up around 4am, I didn't manage to get back to sleep.
