Lindisfarne

We got to Lindisfarne in time to drive across the causeway and spend time on the island. There were a lot of people there. We walked up to the castle and it wasn’t too crowded inside. We were lucky to get a seat in the pub on the way back. There was a long wait for food so we just had a drink. We left 90 minutes before the tide came in but the amount of visitors still there would be lucky to get back in time. Also a lorry had tried to turn round on the causeway and was up to its axles in the wet sand. It was blocking more than half the road. We were lucky that we left when we did.
We had a lovely Italian meal in the evening.
