Another hot day
is gearing up so we must
find our happy place

I arrived in Riverside Park at 6:30 in time for the news, so I sat in my car for the duration. There were already pickle ball games underway and I could hear the sound of impacts and excited voices.

I strolled up the Rivers Trail to the midway point to the bridge. That gave me the long shot of my mountains, the river and the sun coming into the valley. I looked back at the Overlander Bridge I'd crossed to view the construction underway and the traffic already beginning to back up.

Heading back to my car I found just one marmot out on the grass near the Celtic Stones. Are they getting up later these days just like me? None were to be found on top of the Stones as usual.

I did a quick walk around the rose garden, now looking rather spent and tattered. I suspect it will be all cut back for winter soon.

On my drive back to the bridge I spotted several people in uniform checking lanes and alley ways. These are now called Community Services and they keep check on the homeless so evident in our city. With our warm nights, people can be found anywhere.

I'm in for the day with my cranky feet up.
