Sefton Church

A busy morning and a good order of Pansies and Violas delivered out which always puts me in a good humour.
A visit to Sefton Church this afternoon which dates from 1170 and is only occasionally open to the public.I took along a tripod thinking it would not be to busy however it was, making tripod use impossible. The interior is magnificent with a fine wooden screen with an original date of 1500.
The effigy is probably Sir William Molyneux who was made a knight banneret in Gascony in 1286 by the Earl of Lancaster. He is said to have fought in the Crusades and his feet rest on a dragon which is said to be a sign of bravery.

Waiting for it to cool down so I can spend the evening spraying to control Pansy and Viola growth.

Very warm and sunny all day.

We had a whirlwind in front of the house at lunchtime carrying straw about 40 feet into the air.Very exciting.
