Archibald Simpson

I had never noticed previously this large block of granite in the centre of Bon Accord Square. It turns out it is dedicated to the memory of Archibald Simpson, an architect responsible for much of the appearance of central Aberdeen.

The buildings around the square are all officers now, I presume originally they were private dwellings.
